Garage door projects: single and triple bays

Garage door replacements on a one-car garage and a three-car garage, both finished with new trim so the opening reads as part of the elevation rather than an afterthought.

New white raised-panel garage door on a single-car garage with tan siding
Single bay A new raised-panel door on a one-car garage, with new trim and a clean head casing.
New white garage doors across a three-car garage with a shingle roof above
Triple bay Three new doors installed to a consistent reveal, with the head trim carried across the full opening.

What the work involved

  • Removal and disposal of the old garage doors and track hardware.
  • Inspection of the head, jambs and floor line before new doors were ordered.
  • Installation of new doors and hardware, adjusted so each panel closes to a consistent reveal.
  • New head casing and jamb trim, plus paint or aluminum wrap to protect the opening.
  • Weather seals at the bottom and sides, and a final balance and travel check on the opener.

Garage doors and the rest of the elevation

A garage door occupies a large share of a house's front elevation, which is why the trim around it matters so much. On a multi-bay garage, the most common mistake is leaving inconsistent gaps between panels and jambs; the eye picks that up instantly even when the doors themselves match. We set every door to the same reveal and carry the head trim across the full opening so the bays read as one composition.
